My Quest display looks blurry
Meta Quest 3 · Meta Quest 2 · Meta Quest Pro · Blur & clarity
Start with lens care. On Quest 3, check the fit as well before assuming the display is faulty.
- Use a dry microfibre cloth to gently clean the lenses. Avoid alcohol and chemical cleaners.
- Quest 3 only: adjust the back and top straps so the headset sits comfortably. Use the lens-spacing wheel until the image looks clear and comfortable.
- Quest 3 only: make eye-relief adjustments with the headset removed. Match the depth setting on both sides.
The Quest 3 fit controls above do not describe Quest 2 or Quest Pro. Use the instructions for your exact model.
My VIVE Pro 2 display looks blurry
HTC VIVE Pro 2 · Blur & clarity
Check the lenses, headset position and lens spacing first.
- If the headset is new, check that the protective lens film has been removed.
- Wipe the lenses with the cleaning cloth supplied with the headset.
- Adjust the fit so the headset does not sit too low, then check your interpupillary distance (IPD) setting against HTC’s fitting instructions.
If clarity does not improve, use HTC’s support guidance before buying replacement parts.
My Quest controller will not pair
Meta Quest 3 · Meta Quest 2 · Meta Quest Pro · Controllers & tracking
Check power and the mobile-app connection before changing the headset.
- Check that the controller has power. For a model with a replaceable battery, check its seating and charge; for rechargeable controllers, use the correct charging method.
- Update the Meta Horizon mobile app. Enable Bluetooth on the phone and connect the phone and headset to the same Wi-Fi network.
- With the headset on and unlocked, open its controller settings in the mobile app and follow Meta’s pairing instructions for the left or right controller.
If pairing still fails, contact Meta support. Do not jump straight to a headset factory reset.
My VIVE Pro 2 is not tracking
HTC VIVE Pro 2 · Controllers & tracking
Check the play area and restart the connection components.
- Place the headset inside the configured play area.
- Switch the link box off and on with its power button, then restart SteamVR.
- If the error remains, restart the computer and reopen SteamVR. Record the error message for HTC support.
These steps are for VIVE Pro 2. They are not Quest or PICO room-tracking instructions.
My Quest will not connect to Wi-Fi
Meta Quest 3 · Meta Quest 2 · Meta Quest Pro · Wi-Fi connection
Separate a headset connection problem from a network problem.
- Check whether another device can use the same network. Confirm the Wi-Fi password and move closer to the router.
- Restart the headset, then try joining the network again.
- If available, try another trusted network. If that works, investigate the original network configuration.
Meta advises against hotel or airport hotspot networks during initial setup. Connection success does not guarantee that every app or service is available.
My PC cannot detect VIVE Pro 2
HTC VIVE Pro 2 · PC detection
Read the VIVE Console error code before changing cables or settings.
- For code 001, check the headset-to-computer connections, try another USB port and restart the computer if needed.
- For code 009, use a USB 3.0 or higher port. For code 222, check the USB connection at the link box and computer.
- For code 201, check the headset cable connection. Use HTC’s error-code table for any other code.
Do not treat every black screen as the same error. These code meanings apply to VIVE Console.
My Valve Index has no audio
Valve Index · Audio
Check both Windows and SteamVR: they can select different outputs.
- With SteamVR running, select Index as the Windows audio output.
- Check the playback device in SteamVR’s audio settings.
- Open the VR dashboard and check its volume level. If the problem continues, follow Valve’s headset FAQ.
This checks output routing and volume; it does not diagnose a damaged speaker.
My VIVE Pro 2 has no audio
HTC VIVE Pro 2 · Audio
Start with volume and the Windows playback device.
- Check that Windows volume is not muted.
- Select Speaker (VIVE Pro Multimedia Audio) as the default playback device.
- If the issue remains, restart the link box and follow HTC’s code 010 guidance.
Check the official instructions before changing drivers or purchasing additional hardware.
My Quest has a black screen or is stuck on the logo
Meta Quest 3 · Meta Quest 2 · Meta Quest Pro · Power & updates
A logo or chip icon can mean the headset is installing an update.
- If the headset shows the Meta logo or a computer-chip icon, Meta advises waiting up to 15 minutes before troubleshooting.
- If the display remains black, follow Meta’s hard-reboot instructions: hold power and volume down for at least 10 seconds, or until the boot screen appears.
- Choose Boot device using the volume and power controls. If it remains unresponsive, use Meta support.
Choose Boot device, not Factory reset. Stop and check the official guide if the screen differs.
How do I check for a PICO 4 system update?
PICO 4 · Power & updates
Use PICO’s built-in update check to see whether an update is offered for your headset.
- Open Settings → General → System Version, or Library → System Upgrade, as described in PICO’s guide. Menu labels may vary by software version.
- If an update is offered, read the on-screen instructions and use Online Upgrade.
- Allow the download and automatic restart to finish. Contact PICO support if the update repeatedly fails.
An update is not a guaranteed fix. This guide does not ask you to install firmware from unofficial download sites.
